This is a set of photos that I took last summer in the Barbican Conservatory. This was the beginning of me reigniting my love for film photography and photography in general. Most of the photos I have taken on this blog are done with a compact 35mm automatic camera that I bought on eBay.
Most of the photos I have taken on this blog are done with a compact 35mm automatic camera that I bought on ebay, but these photos were actually taken using my first film camera ever, a beautiful manual canon camera. I first bought this camera when I was 16 and trying out film photography for the first time as a part of a photography class in my new sixth form. While I did fall in love with film, I ended up dropping the class for a number of reasons.
While I enjoy the commodity and easiness of automatic film cameras, I do miss taking photos on this beauty as it brings so much more depth and dimension to the photo. Having said that this camera is also stupidly heavy and not super practical if you’re trying to travel with it, but I’m hoping to shoot more manual photos with it this summer.
Hope you enjoyed this little throwback and check out my instagram @so.phiah and @5ophia.photos for more shots and little insights into my life!
P.s: If you’re in the middle of exam season too like me, good luck!
